Bem, antes de tudo, eu vou explicar o que são os "power rangers"... É o grupo de alunos na sala que já têm um certo domínio no inglês, portanto a professora nos passa umas atividades por fora... Se você estuda na Fapa, é meu colega e não tem esses exercícios, não se preocupe, isso significa que você não é um dos alunos escravizados que precisam fazer mais tarefas do que os outros =P

The Aborigines originally came Asia and Papua New Guinea to Northen Australia. Then, 20.000 years ago, the earth became warmer, the sea leavels rose, and Australia became an island.

So for 20.000 years, the Aborigines did not meet people from other parts of the world and they developed their own religion, culture and music. They lived in groups called bands, which were like families. The Aborigines were nomads, and each band travelled from place to place to look for food and water. They did not use writing, but they learned about the world by listening to stories.

In 1770, Captain Cook discovered Australia and soon other Europeans began to arrive and settle in the new country. At first, the Aborigines were happy to share the land with the white men, but soon they realized that the Europeans brought new laws and a new religion, and took away the Aborigines were killed in battles and many more were killed by the diseases that the white men brought.

Today many Aborigines live in modern cities, but they have not forgotten their religionand old ways of life. White Australians are beginning to see that Aboriginal culture is important too. The government has given back some important lands, such as Uluru (Ayers Rock), wich always been a very special place for the Aborigines.
